I have been MIA, but it's been good around this side of the country. The Thompsons are still getting adjusted. Velani seems to really be fitting in school. In just a matter of a couple of weeks she is reading really well. She already knew her letters, sounds and could read three letter words, but now she's really getting better at it. I am so happy for her and now she gets to read to me! Mia and I have been enjoying staying home playing, learning and eating. Adan keeps getting bigger and bigger. He is still a very sweet and quiet little boy. We love to play with him and make him laugh. He slobbers a lot, sleeps like an angel and doesn't like when his sisters are all over him. Jahvel has been studying like a crazy man. He's had many tests and has passed all of them so far. I couldn't be prouder. I know it's only going to get crazier and stressful for him, but we're here to support him. I am doing alright. I don't like to stay home a lot, but I just don't feel like going out by myself either. I like to hang out with my family so we just do it on the weekends. We've had some friends come over to play board games over the weekend and have been to the mall more than we ever did in the 3 years we were in St. George.
This weekend my dad came over and we hung out with him and we even went to NYC. The girls and us had a really good time. Every time there is a vacation or even a get together there's always something that happens that can never be forgotten. When we were arriving Mia said she really needed to go to the bathroom and when Mia says she has to go it's because she really has to go, NOW! Well, we weren't exactly able to just pull over then and there so when we finally got to the ferry station she had already gone. We took her underwear and leggings off and just hoped we would be able to buy some shorts at the souvenir shop. I have to mention that the weather was good, but pretty windy and a bit chilly because of it. So as we were walking her little skirt lifted and you could see everything! My daughter was being an exhibitionist. There were several people, but no one was looking. I had to chase after her because she was jumping and running after the leaves and birds having a great time as if nothing were wrong. I took an even better picture than that famous Marilyn Monroe one! I washed her panties and leggings and then Jahvel took care of the rest (thank goodness for hand dryers). Then, we got on the ferry and showed the girls the Statue of Liberty. They got reallly excited and said "Oh, I remember that! we saw it when we went to Las Vegas!" LOL! we explained that this was actually the real deal. We were also able to go to time square, but didn't have much luck enjoying it there because of a protest going on on wall street, but I did get to try one of New York's pizza and it was DELISH!! Adan was on his best behavior the whole time we were there. He didn't make a peep until we got into a taxi cab and Jahvel accidentally bumped his head, poor baby! We got home late, but we had fun and a much needed get away.
Things are back to normal today and it feels good to just be home and rest after a long weekend. I am looking forward to a field trip at the farm on Friday. Velani and I are gonna spend some mommy/daughter time, while the other two stay with a friend. I am way excited! She hasn't ever been to a farm or had an experience like before. I'll be sure to take pictures.
