I am thankful for many things, today and everyday, of course, I am thankful for prayers.
I know that our prayers are heard and answered. I am thankful for the blessing we all have to communicate with our Father in Heaven and to know that he hears our prayers and that he answers them in the most amazing ways.
But I am especially thankful for Velani's prayers.
Velani has been saying prayers for a while now. When she was about a year younger she began by assigning people to say the prayer. She wouldn't let anybody say the prayer without her assigning one first.
She then learned how to do one herself and would pray for everyone she knew, including Barney!
Now that she is a little older and that she understands more she knows how to say a prayer we can actually understand. She began by saying her prayers in Spanish, though. Now that she speaks more English and that she has been going to the nursery at church, she has learned how to say a prayer in English and only wants to say it in English.
Yesterday morning I asked her to say the prayer for breakfast and she did. I thought it was sweet and very cute! this is how her prayer went:
"Heavenly Father thank thee for this day and for the waffles that mami made............name of Jesus Christ (pronounced Quiste) Amen.
I giggled because first of all I didn't make the waffles, they were frozen! and of how she pronounces Christ.
Velani has a sweet, sweet spirit and I just love her prayers especially because some have been pretty funny. Once she just prayed about her birthday party, presents, Dora cake and of the people whom she thinks are coming.
So what else are we thankful for?
XoXo
