Mia messed up my groove on Wednesday so today I will make it up by telling you a story about a little girl whom we'll call Vela.
One Saturday, early evening, Vela's parents told her they would be going to a little boy's birthday party. She got so excited and happy because she just loves birthdays (at one point she actually thought it was her birthday everyday). Vela and her family get to the little boy's house with a present, but before getting out of the car she wonders if she will get a present too and her mommy tells her they will get her a little gift some other day.
There were parents everywhere and the little boys and girls were all in a room playing with toys, there was food and balloons and it just looked like a real party house. All the children got to pin the tail on the donkey and got to hit and break two pinatas filled with so many yummy chocolates, for the mommy, inside them. Vela didn't settle with one bag filled with candy, oh no! that wasn't enough so she got another one and filled it up, but her mommy had to hide one of them. She was so happy with her candy bag and was such a good girl in asking mommy first if she could have a candy, but mommy told her she had to wait 'till she got home. Vela was actually ok with that.
A few minutes went by and Vela said, "Mami, I want to go home." Her mommy knew exactly why she wanted to go home, but that didn't happen until after some cake and ice cream. Vela seems to like cakes, but only because that's where the candles go because she didn't want any and after her mommy ate some cake and ice cream she insisted that they needed to go home. Finally, the family said 'thank you' and 'goodbye'. As the little family of four were walking out of the house towards their car Vela said in total excitement, "This was the best house ever." She asked if they were going home, but her parents had other plans. They needed to go to a store first. Vela asked if she could have her candy then and her mommy told her she had to wait until they got home. Vela didn't throw a fit and obeyed. As soon as they got home she just grabbed herself a bag of M&Ms and told her mom that's what she wanted to eat and asked if it was ok if she had two. Her very nice mommy agreed since she had been so patient and good at the party. The End.
So it really does pay off to be patient. I wonder what my reward will be if I am actually patient one day, hmmm?? Maybe a cruise? I really want one of those. Anyways here are some pics.
Velani's tail is #2 the one on the donkey's face!
