Summer Vacation

I am so tired right now and sleepy, but I had to just write about our too short summer vacation.

I have the best family ever and I'm not even lying.

Who goes on vacation knowing they really can't afford it? Who travels with 2 toddler girls 19-22 hours only stopping for gas and drive-thrus? I'll tell you who.

People who love their family so much that they just want to spend a short week with them. It's true! I love my aunts, uncles, and cousins back in Texas. We had such a really GREAT time. But it all started here in St. George. My grandparents and cousins Ariana and Lisette came to St George to spend time with us for a few days and we had a good time while they were here. We went to the lake and had a carne asada on a really HOT day and played games and had a good time before our long journey to Texas.

First we attended Andrea's beautiful quinceanera on Friday July 16. We ate, danced (the girls and I) because most of the guys ok I think all of the guys were at a table playing with their phones, and then we had some cake, which was missing the almonds, but the beautiful quinceanera doesn't like them so I guess it's ok.  We also got together again and again with the family almost every day until it was time for us to come back home. We had dinner Begua's house a couple of times and then we had dinner at Tia Sandra's house another day and celebrated Aaron's birthday, then at Tia Fabi's house to celebrate Ivan's birthday, but they also celebrated mine.....thank you!! We swam and had such a fun fun time. We also went to tia Vero's house for dinner (breakfast for dinner) yummy!! and then spent our last day with the Gallardo's (thanks for breakfast AND lunch). We spent some other days with our ex-single adult leaders playing games and having some carne asada (that is where I met Jahvel for the very first time) and another day had dinner with my dad. I gotta say we stayed pretty busy while we were there and that is a very good thing. Oh and I can't forget that we went shopping!!!

On another note, my girls were surprisingly very connected to the family. I knew Velani would be ok with everyone and I seriously thought Mia was gonna be attached to me or daddy, but she wasn't. The funniest thing was how she just loved being with tia Fabi. We think she thought it was "mom" but I'm sure she knew she wasn't, but like my mom said "la sangre llama" she knows she's safe with all these wonderful people that I am proud to call my family. I am happy my daughters got to spend time with their grandparent's, aunts, and cousins... I mean more aunts and that they got to know them a little better. Thanks  everyone for such a good time.

So when's the next reunion?

:( Sorry I missed the week-long p-a-r-t-y at all those houses and of course the QuinceaƱera!!! It seems like all y'all did was eat, eat, eat. I'm very glad the girls got to know and mingle with their aunts, great-aunts and great-grandparents; it's good to know that they got the pachanga genes in them.
