There are many reasons why I love December!

First of all, it is the month we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. I am very thankful for having Him in my life. I know he lives and that he loves me and knows me by name. He is my redeemer and I am grateful for the many many blessings that I have received this year. So many wonderful things have happened this year including the birth of my little boy and finally starting PA school. I am looking forward for next year and see what it will bring. We are a year closer to finishing school and that's what I am really anxious for.
Secondly, it's the month we make the long drive to Texas to spend the holidays with our family. We didn't think we would go this year, but thanks to some people, it seems like we will be able to.
My beautiful mother's birthday is this month and I love to know that as each year goes by and the older she gets the more beautiful she looks and to be honest she doesn't even look like her age.

Earlier last month we went to D.C. for the second time in over 6 years. It was exciting to be back. May 17, 2005 was a very special day. Jahvel and I got married in the D.C. temple and being there with my three kids was a very emotional experience. The girls were happy to be there and know that that was where mommy and daddy got married for time and all eternity!! We went back a few weeks later and spent Thanksgiving with a lovely family in D.C. that Jahvel visited while on his mission. It was different, but we had a good time. We also went to the National zoo with the kiddos and they loved it, especially riding the metro. Living in Pennsylvania is getting easier and I am no longer complaining. I know why we are here and we just have to endure to the end. We've got a future to look forward to and that makes it worth it.
I can't wait to see everyone again and enjoy every minute that we have to be with you guys. I love you all and am grateful for such a wonderful family.
This last picture with all those kids in it is the CTR class I teach at church. They are all 5 year olds and I love them. I have learned so much from them and they are just the funniest and loudest kids ever. The little girl next to Velani, the one with the white skirt, has a little sister (3 1/2 years old) who has Leukemia. I haven't met her mother or sister yet, but my heart goes out to her family. I can't imagine how hard it must be for them. I've learned even more now how grateful we should be for our health and not take things for granted. May this new year be filled with lots of love. I know that I will be counting my blessings and praying to give thanks even more.
