It's ANOTHER boy!

We were super excited when we found out that we would be having another little boy! The thing I didn't like was how the doctor did it. As soon as he walked in the room and prepped me he asked me if we were going to want to know the sex of the baby and we told him we did. Usually they start doing the baby measurements and start from the head and just work their way down, at least that's how they've done it with the other 3 kids, but as soon as he put the jelly on my belly and started the whole thing he immediately said "It's a boy". Notice how there is no exclamation mark on that statement! I was happy, but not with him. I guess I wanted some suspense and we were going to ask him if he would let us take a guess before he said anything because Jahvel had just gone over sonograms in one of his lectures. He did everything so fast it all took about 15 min 20 tops, but all my other sonos have taken longer. We had it done at the hospital so I guess he really didn't care and just wanted to get it over with. I miss my old doctor! Everything seemed fine with the baby :) We already had a boy name, too! His name is Ian. Now, I have to prepare myself mentally because 2 boys in a row just like the 2 girls I have mean TROUBLE!!

Let me tell you the bathing story because it has to do with getting pregnant! Last year when the bathing suits went on sale I fell in love with one, but it was still a little pricey according to Jahvel. The original price was $50 and it was on sale for like around $30 or so, but Jahvel told me to wait until it went down more. I didn't think there would be any left if they did go down more because there were only a few anyways. I went back again a few days later and still there and still the same price. A few weeks later I went back to Target for other things and did my round in the women's department hoping there would still be some left and my eyes saw the bathing suit again, but it was too big and just when I thought there weren't anymore I spotted another one and was wishing it was my size and lo and behold it was and Jahvel was right, it had gone down and now it was only about $12!!! I grabbed it, tried it on and it was just perfect! I couldn't wait for summer so I could wear my brand new bathing suit and go swimming. Then you know what happened and when we were packing our stuff for our trip with the in laws I told Jahvel I was sad that I wouldn't be able to wear my beautiful bathing suit. He assured me that I still fit in it. I told him I didn't, but he insisted I try it on. I got the bathing suit out and I stuck one leg in, stuck the other and slowly started pulling it up, but didn't get far at all! I wanted to cry...not really, but I was sad :( He promised he would buy me one when we got over there. You now know that he kept his promise and he bought it, but he payed about $45 for it because it's bathing suit season and they were not as cheap as he thought they would be. I think I get the last laugh because now I have 2 bathing suits and I think this other one will fit fine afterwards, too because it's not a maternity one and I just have a feeling it'll be all right!

A visit from the WEST!

My in-laws came all the way from good ol' St. George to the city of "Brotherly Love" a.k.a Philadelphia. On May 27 we were able to greet my in-laws and nephew, Eli, (they arrived past midnight when we were all fast asleep). The girls were happy to see them and couldn't stop playing and being noisy early that morning. We packed our bags and headed to Palmyra, New York. We arrived to our destination around 6 that evening and pretty much relaxed for the rest of the day. We ate, went to the store to buy me a new bathing suit that would actually fit me (more on that on another post), and went back to the hotel to swim.

We had a lot of fun the following day. We drove another hour and a half all the way to the famous Niagara Falls! It was AMAZING and just breathtaking. We got to see the U.S. falls up close on the Maid of the Mist. The girls were scared when the boat started rocking as we got close, but they enjoyed getting a little wet. Adan didn't know what was going on, but at least he didn't cry and he just enjoyed the ride. It was pretty hot and when we were finished exploring and taking lots of pictures we left and went to have dinner and then back to the hotel to swim some more!!

On Tuesday we took my in-laws to the Hill Cumorah, where J. Smith uncovered the gold plates; to the Smith's farm and Sacred Grove, where Joseph Smith went to pray and saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ; and to the Book of Mormon printing press, where the first books were printed. The feeling and the spirit we felt when we were at those special places was just indescribable. We also had an unforgettable moment when we were at the Smith's farm; it started to rain on us while they were giving us a tour, but it stopped shortly after and as we were coming out of the Grove a storm hit. We were stuck inside the visitor's center until the storm passed, but while we were there they let us have our picnic inside. It turned out to be a good day and we were able to see everything we wanted. We had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack that evening ( I was disappointed that they no longer serve my favorite dessert, Banana foster :(  and meal fish tacos!). We went back to the hotel and watched a movie. We didn't go swimming that day because Velani's hair was stiff and dry like nothing I had ever touched or seen before. The pool must have had so much chlorine in it or something because her hair was nasty. I even let conditioner on her hair all night so that her hair could go back to just being thick and beautiful, but it didn't work.

We headed back home Wednesday morning and got home that evening and just rested from all the traveling and site seeing. Thursday morning we all headed to the hospital for my sonogram, where we found out that we are having another boy!! (more on this on another post). We dropped off Velani at school afterwards because she really wanted to go back to school and we went to the mall later that day. That evening, after dinner, my mother in law cut all of our hairs. Velani had been wanting one for a while and Mia didn't want to stay behind and well, summer is going to be hot and I am pregnant so why not?!

On Friday we went to see the Statue of Liberty (third time for me!) and had lunch there and then headed back home. Jahvel didn't want take them to time square or anything because of all the traffic and just how crowded it gets. We spent our day at Ellis island and at the Statue, but I guess it was fine because it got pretty chilly and we weren't prepared! My in-laws left Saturday afternoon, but my mother in law were able to go g-saling that morning at Velani's school and I got some really fun books for the kiddos and some movies for us.

It was fun spending the week with them and just great that they were able to come visit us!
