You might be wondering, what tradition?
Well, not all of us follow this particular tradition. Only a few are the lucky ones, or as I like to call it, The Chosen Ones!
Still can't guess?
Ok, I'll give you a clue: 2 women with the same first name just love doing this!!! :)
It all started a while back. Velani fell and scraped her hands and knees for the very first time last year, while living in Garland. I hope you know what I mean by now.
I don't know how it happened, but that's when it all started. She is following in grandma and great-grandmas "footsteps" haha! She just falls. It didn't click until today. She just doesn't walk right, I guess, because there was nothing there that could have caused the fall, there never is and yet people always look back to see what could have made them trip or trip and fall.
She was actually lucky today. She was holding on to my hand and I was able to catch her before actually falling. Oh and then there is something about whites always getting dirty. I had just washed her dirty white shoes and she put them on today. Well, thanks to her feet being all clumsy and stuff, during this incident, she got them all dirty again! that's a different story though.
So I don't know if there is like this pattern forming, I mean I can't figure it out yet, because I mean, I don't fall. So I guess it's just them for now. Would tradition be the right word to use? I don't know, maybe they have a club going on that we just don't know about and if they do well, don't sign me up........I can't believe it!!! hahaha lolol!! I just remembered something I haven't shared. The thing is that I have fallen down my stairs twice now, but that doesn't count because it's within the walls of my home, they do it in public.
Ok, now I have to do a little sucking up. I love you mom! you know I do and my grandma too. It's funny though, right?
Ok well share your thought on this if you wish. Maybe there is more of you who like doing this as well and we just don't know about it. I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

OK missy, just because Velani has fallen a couple of times doesn't mean she is following our "foot-steps", she's only 2, she doesn't have the experience of "walking" yet, she's still perfecting the skill, just keep an eye on her. And as for you, don't think you're off the hook, grandma and myself started "loosing our balance" occasionally after our 30's!!!
