Drama Mama!

I know I have said it many times before, but Velani IS a drama queen and I am her mama.

I have been going through some difficult times with my precious 2 year-old-going-on-13-instead-of-3!!! and I am not exaggerating when I say that.

The day before yesterday we had our first big fight. Like one of those fights I had with my mom when I was way older because I couldn't go out with friends, except Velani isn't way old like I was and it wasn't because I didn't let her go out with her friends.

She loves watching cartoons. Anyways the point is that she can watch cartoons, but not when she is eating. So I turned off the t.v and boy, I didn't see it coming to me. She threw a huge tantrum and was screaming at me like never before. She went into her room and slammed the door, SLAMMED it, can you believe it? she toldme to leave her alone and not talk to her.

Where did this all come from?

Well, I left her in her room until she calmed herself down and when she came out she asked me to say sorry because I yelled at her, yes, I am guilty! I yelled at her, but after I kept asking her nicely to stop yelling at me, she was totally out of control, I tell ya. I did apologize and she apologized as well and we had a talk, I explained to her why she couldn't watch t.v while eating and well after everything was said she said "Ven mami, dame un hug" so we hugged it off and everything was ok again.

I don't want a preteen in a 2 year old body. I want just that, a 2 year old! I want my baby to enjoy her childhood and I hope this is just a phase she is going through. The funny thing is that she has a little sister who looks up to her and is watching her.

Uh-oh! I think I am outnumbered.

Patience!

That Velani! I wish I had some advice for you.... I don't know why I have the feeling that I'll be calling you in about another year when Ms. Josie hits her terrible (I mean 'lovely') two's.
