The girls were excited to find out about it, but are past it now. They do, however, ask me when the baby will be "taken out of your belly." It's gonna be quite interesting having a 1 year old and a newborn at the same time. I think I am beginning to realize that it's not going to be any easier especially because my little guy will still be in diapers and maybe even learning to walk and probably still waking about 2 to 3 times in the middle of the night! (crossing my fingers he will start sleeping through the night SOON). We still don't know if we will be moving to Idaho yet, but hopefully it all works out and we will. I can't wait to just have a "normal" life and stay in one place we can actually call our own. I really can't complain because we have a wonderful family and a group of friends who have been there for us and have made this journey a lot easier. I have learned to not take things for granted and that the simpler we live the better.
The girls are doing good. Velani still loves school and I am amazed at how much she has learned. I also realized that I couldn't be a teacher, that's not my calling, but I do appreciate the teachers who teach our children and the home school teachers because I know that it requires patience and lots of dedication and preparation, something I don't have, at least not now, but I'm still working on it. Mia and I are really just kind of hanging out at home with Adan and try to go out when we can.
I want to end this with an interesting conversation I had with Velani about a week ago. Here's the backstory: When we are home we have to constantly remind the girls that they have to speak spanish here. I did the same that day while we were having lunch in the kitchen and this is how it went down
V: ok, ok!
Me:
V: No, no I don't mean this family, Adan, Mia, Papi, me or you! I mean my family, when I get married and have my kids! They won't have to speak spanish.
Me: Yes they will because if you don't teach them then I will! You are a Mexican so you and the rest of your family will have to learn spanish.
Velani: But a Mexican is someone who was born in Mexico and I was born in Texas!
Me: :-/ (she got me) yes, but since you have lots of family who were born in Mexico, like daddy, grandma, grandpa, great grandma and grandpa and many more that makes you a Mexican because it's in your blood.
V: ok!
Me: VICTORY!!!!
